West Still Needs a Nap

Today, I let West win the "no nap" game we sometimes play. He is usually really good about taking naps, but in the past 2 weeks, he has been fighting me lately. So after an hour, I told him we could skip his nap.

These pictures are proof that our son cannot skip naps. He was eating dinner when he fell asleep.

Slowly drifting off . . . . . . Almost gone.

No, I did not catch him with his eyes close. He was sitting up straight and fully asleep. I pulled him onto my lap immediately after taking the picture as he was surely going to tip over!

Mowing with Daddy

I was in the house. Matt was getting ready to mow. West was watching Daddy out the window. I heard the lawn mower start and then I heard a wild exclaim "He's not stopping! He's not stopping! I want to ride on his back!" West came running to me. "I want to ride on his back!"

So I did as any mommy would do who wanted to get a little more done around the house. I took the carrier outside and let West hop in. Too cute!

West in the Bluebonnets

These pictures were taken by a good friend of ours, Joan. She was a student of mine in 8th grade and has been to our house every Thursday for Bible Study for the past 4 years.

I should have posted these pictures a month ago, since they were taken at Easter, but I just didn't get around to it.

The funny thing about this picture is that we told West in the car we were going to take our pictures in the bluebonnets. We let him out of the car and into the field, and he ran into the flowers, turned around and struck this pose. It was like he was born on a runway or something.

West was not crazy about the suggestion to lay down in the flowers. He complied but looked like very stiff and unnatural!

Camping with West

We went camping with West this weekend at McKinney Falls. We went with 15 High School seniors from our Bible Study and had a great time.

Can I just say that West is just a great kid? He is just fun to take places and try new things with. He loved hiking, loved even more the pop-up camper we borrowed, and when it came to playing and hanging out with "the kids" as he calls them, it just doesn't get better. He even fully enjoyed being lowered over a 7 foot small waterfall to play in the creek with his mommy and daddy. He's just a wonderfully adventurous, fun-loving, enjoyable kid. I was reminded of our jokes about his name "Wild West" and you know, it really does fit him. Not crazy wild, but fun wild. We like him and we love him -- can you tell??

Now then, STAND STILL, and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your very eyes! 1 Samuel 12:16
