Family Vacation

Ever heard of Silver Dollar City? Most people haven't and when I described it as a Hillbilly Disneyland, I don't think it causes anyone to become any more interested. But that is the best sound bite description I can come up with and that is essentially what it is.

Anyway, we went there on a family vacation -- great, great time. Highly recommend it for families.

Creed's favorite: the Frog ride

West was okay with the frogs. He prefers a little more excitement. This kid is great at amusement parks and loves the coasters, the spinning, freefalls etc.

We couldn't all make it, but here is part of my family.

Silver Dollar City has an old-fashioned candy shop so we bought huge lollipops for the kids' ride home. Can't you see the exhaustion in Creed's face?? Too tired to hold his sucker, but not tired enough to give it up. Tired but happy!

Oh, I've been to Silver Dollar City, back when I was a kid. You've described it accurately, though I've been told it's now much cooler than when I went there. Looked like fun!

We just vacationed there too. The weather was beautiful and Alea rode her first ride. It was a great family park and lots of fun. Glad you enjoyed it.

Believe it or not, we have season passes to Silver Dollar City because our kids love it so much and it's only 90 minutes from our house. Their favorites are the mini roller coaster and the spinning Pirate ships. They've also discovered the Water Toboggan this year. Glad you had so much fun - and yes, Hillbillie Disneyland is a great (and very accurate) description!

I went once when I was a kid too! :) I don't remember many details at all -- but I remember getting taffy from a candy shop! :)

I've been to Silver Dollar City when I was too small to ride most of the rides. All I remember is that we made candles.
Glad you had a good time.

What a beautiful family. Your vacation sounds fun. Amusement parks that aren't overly crowded are always the best for small children!

Now then, STAND STILL, and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your very eyes! 1 Samuel 12:16
