Point of Interest

Just thought I would point out, for those who are interested, that I am putting up my Christmas tree right now for the first time in 5 years that I am not waiting for a child to come home.

Not saying this as "woe as me -- look what I've been through". Not at all. There are a lot more woes out there than mine. But it just seems interesting to point out that not long ago, we were in our Russia saga of life. And this year, I have a grateful heart and a different kind of joy now that my boys are home.

But then again, for those of you who are die-hard adoption fans, don't we always feel like there is one more child out there who we are waiting for?? :) :)

I was tagged by Heather

1. I love reading African-American literature and historical fiction especially wars.

2. I lived in the same house as my mother did when she was little. The home was built by my grandfather. It was a farm house in Kansas. There was even the original outhouse nearby, though we did have indoor plumbing (in case that was in question.)

3. Because our water was rural and therefore, at times unpredictable, I know that there is one good flush left in a toilet when your water shuts off (this can be crucial information)

4. I like a big glass of ice water when I'm eating chocolate.

5. I've wanted to adopt since I can remember talking about having a family.

6. I took 7th grade math 3 times (once in 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade- junior high were rough years). For the record, I tested out of it in 8th grade and was back on track in 9th grade.

7. Matt and I are one of the greatest teams I know.

There you have it. Now I tag . . . . Diana and Chrystal,

Lions and Tigers and . . .Well, No Bears

We started Halloween with a trip to Daddy's office to show off the cuteness and GIVE treats instead of taking them.Creed, West and Scott
Scott is the name West gave the skeleton. I think it helped him not be scared of it if his name was Scott. Every time we left the house, Creed waved and said "Bye,Bye Scott" In fact, Scott has been gone now for close to a month and Creed still says "Bye, Bye, Scott"Creed thoroughly enjoyed carving the pumpkin. And tasting the pumpkin
And being disgusted by the taste of the pumpkin

My first born, "don't want to get my hands dirty" son preferred to stay clear of the seeds and guts and would only touch the top

Always fun to dig through the loot. For West, for Creed and for Mommy and Daddy. Fortunately for me, my sons have not been introduced fully to the goodness of a Twix.

Creed was a lion this year. And a good roar was heard often in our neighborhood. West was Tigger. This is probably the last year I'll get West in a cute costume. He was definitely eyeing the superheroes walking around.

A Pirate's Life for Me!

West turned 4 this year! He has really been into pirates so we had a pirate party for him, complete with a treasure chest hunt.

Getting directions for the treasure hunt.Finding a clue
I went much simpler this year --the Thomas cake from last year did me in, but this pirate ship was easy.

Digging through the loot.

I need to catch up!

I've really let this blog slide. Sorry for you faithful followers who are tired of seeing the same stuff. Come back those of you who have left me for someone more interesting.

I'll throw out a few entries right now, hit the holidays, and then '09 is guaranteed not to be dull. From Siberia to Africa -- 09 will be an adventure!

Now then, STAND STILL, and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your very eyes! 1 Samuel 12:16
